What is Surevalve ?

[The Surevalve ™ will replace most conventional valve stems to provide an exceptional level of safety, security, appearance, and durability.  The Surevalve ™ has a unique two piece patented design which incorporates a break-away outer valve stem and a lower base valve.  The valve core sits subriminal in the base valve for greater protection.  If the outer stem is ever severed  the valve is designed to retain air in the wheel.  The two piece design also allows for outer stem replacement without removing the valve stem or tire.   Surevalve ™  is a tire saver and a life saver...because air matters ™.]

Why doesn't the base valve seal properly?

[We find that in most cases a leaking base valve is the result of the base valve not being tightened properly in the rim.  The base valve should be installed tight enough where it won't spin when the outer break-away stem is installed.  After installation it is recommended that the valve assembly be checked with a soap and water mixture for any signs of bubbles indicating a leak.  In the event that a leak is detected, tighten the base valve some more to squash the rubber grommet and provide a leak-free seal.  We do not have a torque spec for installation due to the many rim configurations making it impossible to determine the proper torque for every application.]

What are the two grommet sizes?

[The two rubber grommet sizes that come with Surevalve ™ are a .453 inch grommet and a .625 inch grommet.  The .453 inch grommet is the size of a conventional valve stem found on most tires.  The .625 grommet is for use in the larger hole found on most motorsport racing rims .]

Can caps be installed on the outer valve stem?

[Although the outer valve stem has threads, it is recommended that you check the cap to outer stem clearance before you install caps on them.  The way to check the clearance is to install the cap on the outer stem while it is off the base valve and see if the plunger moves at all when the cap bottoms out.  If the plunger moves it is not recommended that you use that cap on the outer break-away stem.  Many caps also have an inner seal which can be removed to provide additional clearance.  The outer valve stems are double sealed to prevent air, dirt, and moisture from penetrating the valve core there fore the additional seal in the cap is not necessary.  The outer valve stem functions like an extension to the base valve, caps that depress the plunger down could open the valve core in the base valve that is why it is important to check the cap to outer valve stem clearance.  Nitrofill caps with the seal removed work very well and look great.  Try to avoid the use of plastic caps.]

My vehicle has factory tire pressure sensors installed, can I use  Surevalves ™?

[Surevalve ™ is not compatible with the tire pressure sensors which are incorporated in the valve stems at this time.  However Surevalve ™ will work with the factory tire pressure monitors which are not part of the valve stem like the ones mounted on the inside of the rims.  Please refer to your vehicles owners guide to see if your vehicle is equipped with tire pressure sensors]

How are the Surevalve caps used?

[The Surevalve ™ caps are installed by removing the outer break-away stem after the tire is properly inflated and installed onto the base valve, in the outer stems place.  The outer break - away stem will still be necessary to add air to the tire assembly due to the large diameter of the base valve.]

Are Surevalves legal for use in racing?

They should be legal for most motorsport racing.  Surevalve has been approved for NASCAR competition.  Surevalve ™ is approved for the Fastruck Racing Series. Surevalve ™ is approved by the ASA, ARCA, and PASS.    Surevalve ™ has also been approved by the SCCA and SVRA.  It is also allowed in ALMS and IMSA competition and many more.  ]
